Easy Setup of CyberDojo on OS X Yosemite using Docker

Basically I followed instructions on this page Setting Up Your Own Cyber Dojo using Turnkey


  1. First get the 14.0-jessie-amd64-vmdk image from here.
  2. Extract the vmdk image from step 1. 
  3. Also download Docker and follow the instructions to install Docker Toolbox http://docs.docker.com/mac/step_one/
  4. Step 2 will provide us with a VirtualBox. Setup a new linux box with the vmdk image
    1. In Virtual Box click on new and select Linux for Type and Debian(64 bit) for Version
    2. Click Continue
    3. Then choose the memory size. I left it at default
    4. Click Continue
    5. Select use an existing hard drive and select your image
    6. This will create a linux box and ask for you to select a password.
    7. Confirm password
  5. Use Docker to startup the virtual box you configured
  6. Start your service with $ service apache2 restart

Simple MVC3/Razor Fileupload and Storage

Recently I had to add a simple fileupload control in an MVC3 Razor page. It wasn't very difficult to do, thanks to System.Web.Helpers and Microsoft.Web.Helpers.
