Xamarin Components Tips

Recently I got into building cross platform mobile device apps using Xamarin Forms. A project I was working with required that we add components in both IOS and Android.

When you add a component to your project -> Project Name -> Folder called components

Then Xamarin provides samples that go with these components.

Double clicking on the component name would bring up a page such as this...

Tab over to Samples


Double click on Open Sample:
This opens up the sample as a project and helps with figuring out the details. It's pretty NEAT!

Simple MVC3/Razor Fileupload and Storage

Recently I had to add a simple fileupload control in an MVC3 Razor page. It wasn't very difficult to do, thanks to System.Web.Helpers and Microsoft.Web.Helpers. Book Summary : How to fail at almost everything and still win big

This is a summary of Scott Adam's book "How to fail at almost everything and still win big". Scott has most likely failed at more things than the average person. This is because he tries his hand at new skills and businesses which in term lead him to big successes such as the Dilbert series.  Major takeaways from the book Let energy be your indicator Decide on what you do based on your energy.
